It’s that time of year again (unbelievably) where we’re left wondering where the heck 2019 went. It’s certainly been a rollercoaster of a ride for the country and businesses as a whole. Potential franchisees unwilling to invest until they have some semblance of clarity over Brexit – check. Supply chain worries playing havoc with B2B businesses – check. A challenging consumer landscape affecting consumer sales – check. Almost no one seems to have escaped unscathed from the political furore and resulting economic uncertainties. But there have been plenty of causes for celebration too and we mustn’t forget them.
Perhaps that’s why the run up to 31st December feels particularly poignant this year as we’ll soon be entering a new decade. One that brings with it, new opportunities and the chance to propel ourselves to new heights. Now, we’re all for looking to the future or working towards a grand plan with an ambitious appetite. But we’re also big believers in celebrating smaller wins along the way and being grateful for what you have achieved thus far. We encourage you to do the same with your team. Ask them about their own highlights and share yours. What personal and professional wins have made people especially proud? You might be surprised by what you learn, and it’s a great way to reflect, take stock and help inspire you for the year ahead.
TeamRev has had quite the year.
We moved into sparkly new offices in June, with space to grow into – which we’ll certainly be needing in the new year. Won a trio of awards, started working with some amazing new clients and continued supporting those who have chosen to stay with us year after year – we’re especially proud of that. We’ve expanded our service range to meet demand (hello content creation) and been invited as guest speakers to business and franchise events to help educate business owners on what’s hot, and what’s definitely not anymore, in the world of PR. We’ve secured client coverage on BBC Breakfast and ITV and had clients feature as guests on dozens of radio stations and podcasts. Not forgetting the thousands of newspaper and online articles we’ve either ghost written, secured or collaborated on for clients. You might think it’s just all in a day’s work – and it is – but it never fails to thrill and motivate us.
“The highlight of this year for me has got to be our awards,” says Lucy. “Which are actually three highlights – am I allowed to have three? We really feel like we made some waves this year and it’s exciting to think about where that is now leading us as we head into a new decade.”
“With the risk of sounding like I’m reeling out the corporate jargon, this year really has been a team effort,” adds Sally. “To see the TeamRev culture shine through and produce such amazing results for our clients, day-in, day-out, makes me incredibly proud. We’re on the lookout for our next victim team member so don’t be surprised to see a new face early next year. Onwards and upwards!”
More highlights…
Because we’re all about everyone’s voice being heard, we asked Kelly and Liam what their highlights were, and they very kindly said nice things about Rev. Without being prompted.
“This year has been full of highlights – buying and renovating my first home with my husband and a 30th birthday trip to Las Vegas take top spots personally,” says Kelly. “Workwise, I think a highlight has been how much I’ve learnt about my abilities as a PR professional these last 12 months – I’m really proud of how far I’ve come. And our office move was very exciting! 2020 is going to be just as jam-packed but I’m looking forward to reaching new goals.”
“2019 has been a rollercoaster!” says Liam. “It’s really opened my eyes to a lot of things, not just professionally but personally too; I’ve grown and learnt new skills. In between moving house, a couple of European city breaks and planning a best friend’s hen-do, it’s been 12 months that I’ll never forget… until next year!
There’s no rest for the wicked though as they say – not sure how we feel about that reference to be honest! – and for TeamRev, the holidays don’t quite mean the same ‘shut down’ that they do for some other businesses. The media never sleeps so we’ll be keeping on top of the headlines, responding to journalist enquiries and pitching our clients in where possible. We may just be doing it with a glass of fizz or a mince pie in one hand.
Thank you to all of our wonderful clients, known and new, who put their trust in us. It means the world and we don’t ever take it for granted. From all of us here, wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, happy Holidays and a wonderful new year. We’re confident that it’s going to be a good one!
