In June, Team Rev was proudly shortlisted for the prestigious CIPR (that’s the Chartered Institute of PR) Excellence Awards. A national programme that recognises the very best professionals the UK. Now, we’re celebrating not one, but two more massive award shortlistings. And do you know what? We wanted to tell you a little bit about them!
Roll up, roll up!
First up are the Great British Entrepreneur Awards (GBEA). We’re in the running for the Creative Industries category and we couldn’t be more proud of our team. Well, not unless you include the next award too, but you know what we mean. Founded in 2012, the GBEA celebrate more than just a company’s balance sheet and bottom line. They are recognised by the UK Government and judged by some of the top names in business. Judges look at culture, values and service levels. As well as the results and innovations of entrants in order to determine its shortlist. GBEA representatives said that this year, there’s been a record number of applicants – over 4800! We’re over the moon to have been named a finalist out of so many amazing organisations!
Still on a high from the GBEA we then got the call that we were also shortlisted as a finalist in ‘PR Agency of the Year’ at the UK Agency Awards. Unlike a lot of other awards, the UK Agency Awards don’t split businesses into size by financial turnover or number of employees. If you’re good enough to be in, then you’re in – regardless of how big or small you happen to be. Or how niche in our case! The fact that we’re now being recognised alongside some of the largest and most well-known agencies in the country is incredibly exciting! The UK Agency Awards are judged by leading, in-house, industry experts in marketing, communications and advertising. Which means they’re not a popularity contest they are simply won by merit, talent and expertise – it’s ok to say we believe we have these in buckets, right?
Why we’ve stood out
We’re so committed to delighting our clients that we always felt we’d do well in any awards programme under normal circumstances. But 2020 wasn’t normal, and we’re still not quite there yet. Our approach over the last 18 months has been different, sure, but for us, it was the right – and therefore the only – thing to do. In early 2020, we invested in a business coach to propel Rev forwards. But when Covid hit, and as lockdown became a reality, we made it our mission to support franchise businesses to survive and even grow through the pandemic. Our belief was that only by supporting one another, working together and acting selflessly, could we all come out the other side. This approach has resulted in growth way above target and cemented our reputation as ethical, passionate professionals in franchising.
We find out the results in September at a mix of virtual and in-person events. It’s hard to remember what an awards ceremony is actually like even though we’ve been to a fair few over the years! You can count on one thing though, we’re ready to dust off the glad rags. And we’re definitely going to make the most of it as a team. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
If you’re in the market for some PR support, we’d love to hear from you. Our clients mean the world to us – perhaps you should be one of them. Drop Lucy Archer a line at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a chat.
