With Christmas just around the corner, you’re no doubt caught up in a whirlwind of festive activity. PR never sleeps and so, even though our clients might be starting to think about slowing down for the holidays, it’s business as usual here at Rev PR!
But amidst the feverish copywriting, pitching and media relations, and during the planning and preparing for a great start to 2019, we thought it was important to take a moment to reflect. The last year has brought with it many personal and professional milestones for everyone in the TeamRev office, so we wanted to share a few with you in the hope that it would encourage you to do the same!

“As our team continues to grow, it was great to give our office a makeover this summer. New furniture with smart storage gave us more space, just in case we feel the need to break out a few dance moves during the day. But seriously, taking our brand imagery off the website and sharing some of our brand values on the walls has brought an extra buzz to the office. And our next Publicist interviews will include a flat-pack furniture build test #destructionsnotinstructions
“It was my 40th birthday this year and I had a lovely time celebrating with franchise friends in the US, my family at home, TeamRev in Marbella and seeing my mates in Australia after a 10-year gap. 2019 travels will stick to Europe – as long as I can get in and out easily enough #Brexit”

“Oh wow, picking a business ‘best bit’ is hard! 2018 feels like the year that Rev really came into its own. One thing’s for sure, it’s been incredibly satisfying to bring our services to a wider mix of brands this year. We love and appreciate when a big-name brand chooses us of course but being able to reach and help smaller businesses on the cusp of something really special has been exciting too.
“If we’re talking about 2018 highlights, I couldn’t not mention my wedding! We met at a bfa event of all places and it’s been a bit of a fairy tale ever since. My hubby is a franchise professional through and through, but we’ve stuck to our pact to never bring work home. No franchise chat around the Archer dinner table, a fact about which I’m both relieved and grateful! It seems that love is in the air, so I’m going to be finishing off the year as a bridesmaid when one of my oldest friends gets married… three days before Christmas!!”

“2018 has been a year full of change and growth and, so far – there’s still a few days to go! – the best year of my career. I’ve loved – almost! – every second of it. Sure, there’s the odd day when a one-coffe morning turns into a three-coffees morning, an afternoon energy drink and an evening gin, but for the most part, each day passes in a productive blur!
“This year, I’ve invested more time in developing my knowledge of the sectors my clients operate in, so I become a true brand ambassador. My confidence in my ability as a PR professional has come on leaps and bounds – this, in part, is down to the support of TeamRev and how much belief they have in me. I’m really proud of what I have achieved, all before the year I turn 30.
“As the year of Meghan and Harry – and Jack and Dani – comes to a close, I get ready to watch my little sister marry the love of her life. As Maid of Honour, I’ve had a very busy year, full of cake meetings, dress fittings and – not forgetting – the incredible hen weekend, so I’m very much looking forward to a celebratory gin and tonic with the happy couple.”

“2018 has certainly been a rollercoaster to say the least. What started as a year of bad news – I was made redundant – is coming to a close as one of the most important years of my life so far. It has opened up and presented many opportunities that wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t been brave enough to take the leap – I even surprised myself.
“There’s nothing better than having people believe in you and invest their time in helping you develop. Being part of TeamRev, albeit a new addition, has taught me a lot about myself. I have learnt crucial skills within PR and gained a better understanding of my own strengths and weaknesses. I’m a little surprised that we drink way less champagne than Eddie and Patsy… hint hint.
“On a personal note, I have focused more time on me. I have started to realise that your own self-worth is the most important thing and maintaining that should be a priority. And for me, that’s means surrounding myself with people that I love the most – and almost always with some good vegan food too!”
Reflection brings with it the realisation that, despite the ups and downs that we all face, there’s still an awful lot to be grateful for. If that doesn’t leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, we don’t know what will!
But, if you’re still feeling like a bit of a Grinch, try some reflection, it’s good for the soul!
